Dual monitor setup with a single HDR display???

I have an Asus PG279Q currently and I'm going to get either the Asus PG27UQ or Acer X27 when they finally hit the market. Since the PG279Q is a standard colour gamut and non-HDR display will that create any issues when playing HDR games or movies on the new HDR and DCI P3 enabled monitor?

 

Note I'm not going to be playing anything across the two screens, just using the older screen for Discord, Pocketcast and other secondary task.

I don't see why it couldn't though I also can't find any sources saying that it 100% would.
