I have an issue with my new SSD I got. I try to reinstall windows but it keeps popping up with an error about hardware and Bios setup problems. I used a program called "Macrium Reflect" and I wanted to use it to clone my hard drive to the SSD. It did have the correct amount of space, but it had a bad "sector size". I don't know what this is.

If I understand this you:

  • Tried doing a clean install of Windows first, but it complained
  • Then you tried cloning the original Windows install from your old disk to the SSD and it still complained.

The SSD is probably DOA. But if you can tell me what the error that pops up during the Windows install that might help confirm things.
