280mm radiator placement?

Hi guys, would it be "fine" if I put the radiator just sitting on the bottom of the case, instead of having it secured to a mount(i dont have a 280mm mount)?

Does it get any airflow in the bottom? I can only see place for a 120mm radiator down there on the basement

No, there is just an ssd and a psu down there. But still would it be safe to put it there?

From looking at the pics of your case shown at the link you provided, I would not put the rad on the bottom.  The reason being is there is relatively little to no air flow down there.  If possible, I would do my best to put it in the front of the case since there is no way to mount it in the top.  The bottom of the case uses a shield to hide the psu and cables and there probably isn't enough space down there for a 280mm rad anyway.  From what I can see, the front is your best bet.  Good luck.

if i put it in the front, then i will have to remove the rad in the front with my case fans, and i will have only one left

You didn't say in your original post that you already had a radiator in the front of the machine.

So does your "stock Intel cooler" include a radiator?  I have yet to find a cpu that includes a radiator and fan setup as the "stock" cooler.  Searching thru Newegg, I was able to find several package deals that included both the Intel Core i7-8700k cpu along with an AIO, but that package deal was put together/created by the folks as Newegg, and not by Intel.

If you try to just shove a 280mm in the bottom of your case you will just create more problems for yourself. First off it will not get the air flow needed. It will be lose so the fans might catch cords or you could damage a part of the loop causing a leak.

 

Maybe you should consider a new case... or picking up another case for a rad box and just quick disconnect cables to make moving it easier. Maybe you can mount it to the outside of your case with the special standoff kits that can be found.

We need some clarification from the OP.

(Maybe he/she is getting the "rad" or "radiator" term mixed up  with fan grille or something  )

Are you water cooling the GPU? If not then you are probably mixing up terms and you don't have a radiator in the front. Case fans on a grill or some sorts is not a radiator, and you can replace/use them just fine with the radiator as intake.

Looking at the product page, that case does not support 280 mm radiators so you have two options: get an AiO solution that is supported or get a different case that supports a 280 mm radiator.

Don't put it loose inside the case, let alone at the bottom. It will not be sucking in fresh cool air and just expel hot air in the case instead of taking it out. Hence it will probably not cool well.

You COULD do a push-pull configuration at the front with your Corsair H115i radiator.

That way, you can keep your front fans there.

 

Push-pull = fans on both side of the radiator

(all fan directions blowing air into the case).

Here is an example of the H115i in push-pull.

Not in your Thermaltake Vew 27 case, but you end up with something about the same.

Both sets of fans are blowing air into the case.

You would use the long screws to mount the front set of fans fans that goes before the radiator.

Those screws would go through the front of the case + fan + radiator.

[RADIATOR] [FAN] [CASE]

 

The second set of fans would be mounted on the opposite side using SHORTER scews, so you don't damage the radiator.

The screws would go through the fan, and onto the radiator.

[FAN] [RADIATOR]

 

So you end up with..

[FAN] [RADIATOR] [FAN] [CASE]

 

The H115i should come with a set of long screws (8) , and short screws (8).
