Tier 3 or above. 550W is enough

Hello guys, 

 

I have this build here from 6 months ago, and many people told me to change the power supply because its not that great, so I will show you my build, and I need some help picking the right Psu for my pc. 

 

 

CD: ASUS 24X Internal multi DVD-Writer / 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R

 

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ Processor i7-7700K 4.20GHZ 8MB Intel Smart Cache

LGA1151 (Kaby Lake)

Unless you use 2 graphics cards or some X platform CPU, 550w is more than enough.

Because my graphics card has some serious coil whine, and many people suggest that a high wattage PSU (and low voltage ripple) can solve the problem. They are fking wrong.

Yes, with that PSU you should replace it.

 

There is no need for 750W and all you need is a good 450-550W like Bitfenix Formula, be quiet Straight Power 11 is more than enough.

Because there are no ~550W Seasonic X/P Series for decades that aren't fanless.

That is the only non fanless unit of that series that's around 550W:

Yes, most people have no idea about PSU and are just shouting out outright false Information.

 

Wattage has nothing to do with Coil Whine, in many cases its just being unlucky, though some PSU Layouts are more prone to Coil Whine than others are...
