My stepfather needs to build his pc somewhat new (mainboard broke) but his pc was really old. Reusable are the power supply, harddrive and case.

Price wise its: the cheaper the better. So going for a good value to performance is important. He's mainly playing older games and a modded Minecraft variant (so he needs some ram).

What would you suggest? I was thinking along the lines of a low tier ryzen with 8GB or 16GB ram and a GTX 1030 or 1050. I'd say going with DDR4 Ram since it would allow for better upgrading in the future.

But what Mainboard would be a cheap option? And what ram? As I said. the cheaper the better.

Just modded minecraft and older titles?

R3 2200g, 8gb of 2400mhz DDR4 on literally any AM4 motherboard you can find.

Youre not looking at demanding stuff here.

You could get away with a 550/650/750 + 1st gen i5 and 8gb of ddr3 to get a smooth 60fps+ experience in older games and especially stuff like minecraft.

Pretty junk PSU. I'd change it.
