Second-hand SSD?

So I've got a second-hand Samsung 830 240gig SSD for about 110-120$, and a 120gig 240 evo drive for 60$, should I pull the trigger, the offer expires tomorrow.

 

EDIT: I made sure that drives are real, since I see some people asking me if they're from ebay. No, a friend sells them, he got a bunch of them from some conpany that got rid of them dirt cheap.

Ah. A relief.... Just check it. See if it's damaged,check the write/read speeds is the same as the new ones give.etc.

Well, I'll just wipe them, the 830s are well built AFAIK. What do you say, is it a good deal, should I go for it. Bear in mind that over hear they cost literally 2x more.

Wiping it does not fix the damage writing does to SSDs. All SSDs have a limited lifespan and that lifespan is reduced every write. But for half price it would definitely be worth it to pick up a few.

Yes I know that, but the 830 doesn't use the same sandforce controller that the 840 does, I think it's SLC so it will have a much bigger lifespan.

Did, got a 240gig one, works like a charm. The 830 is a gem, feels better than my hyperx 3k.
