Motherboard keeps beeping at me and the beeps aren't relating to anything on the internet. I tried removing ram, didn't change. I started doing stress tests to single thing out as the mobo would only beep during gaming. AIDA64 resulted with nothing different. Furmark made it beep when TDP went over 93%. So I'm wondering if its a PSU issue? From what I've read, PSU's just die, there is no in between. Really just trying to figure out which part I need to RMA.

If it's a beep coming from the PC speaker, it's probably dumb things like sticky keys kicking in (though sticky keys will often open a pop up). Weird key combinations can also cause your board to beep for like invalid inputs.

You sure it's not one long two short, as that's the GPU error beep code?

No dude, one long beep. I don't have other cables or I would try swapping them out. I switched them around and made sure they were secure on the back end of the PSU. When the beeping happens, nothing else happens. No blue screens, no stuttering, nothing. Just noise from the mobo. Honestly never had an issue like this and the info online is lackluster.

There's literally no info anywhere on this. Try contacting MSI.

I know. Which is frustrating. I run Furmark (1440p, 2x msaa and power limit at 126, no OC), it will get above 93% TDP and start screaming at me.

As Jonny said, that's just wrong, totally.

There are some kind of intermittand failures of a PSU, especially things like broken SOlder Joints and other stuff...

It would have been great if that was the case but it is not.

@jonnyGURU, I used your review to make the decision on this PSU. Thank you for the work you do, its much appreciated.

As noted above, I was able to replicate the issue during Furmark. It would run Furmark just fine but if I did something in the background(and the TDP was over 93%), like open a google page, it would trip the beep. The weird part is that nothing actually happens during the beeping. No drop in FPS, no stutter, no special screens.

I am dreading the RMA, I hope its relatively quick.

You're sure it's not an over temperature warning from the motherboard?

In most BIOS's these days, you can set an audible alarm and what temperature you want that alarm to go off at.  Go into your BIOS and either raise that threshold or turn off the alarm and see what happens (assuming your board has that feature).

I bought a second PSU, the Platinum version. I will report back after installing that Friday. If its still an issue, its clearly a mobo issue.

Figured it out. Feel really stupid now. UPS is beeping as I'm drawing too much power from it. When running Furmark, the UPS makes the beeping noise and the power light goes to amber. Thanks for the responses.
