Help with new monitor

I have recently bought the BenQ XL2720T but it will only let me display it at 120hz even though the max is 144HZ. I am using a DVI dual link and have a radeon 6900 series graphics card. Can anyone help me with getting it to 144HZ, thank you.

Are you sure it's 144HZ? Newegg says otherwise...
