get a gigabit one. it will run at top speed of what ethernet cable can provide.

Daewoo Lacetti Premiere 2011 1.8L with Chevrolet badges on it = Better graphics than NFS in VR.

Daewoo Leganza 1999 2.0L  as a summer weekend car.

Otherwise my daily rig is some oem pcchips motherboard with intel 486-dx4 in it overclocked to 133mhz and watercooled with astonishing 24MB RAM and superb S3 Virge DX graphics with 4MB of VRAM for best performance in heavy 3D apps and games and with 850mb WD Caviar 4200RPM HDD for maximum storage space and speed.

Running  Windows 95 OSR2.5 with IE4 for amazing internet browsing experience

all this in glorious desktop case in elephant bone color.

It depends whether you will be accessing files between devices (like a NAS). If you are just planning on connecting these devices to the internet, you can get a "Fast" switch (100Mb/s) rather than a Gigabit switch, although gigabit switches probably don't cost a lot more.

It is also worth noting that your router probably can manage gigabit, as most routers have a gigabit switch built in to them. It is the WAN connection (internet) that is the limiting factor, not the device.

Main rig: CPU: Ryzen 9800X3D | GPU: ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB | Mobo: Asus Z870-P | RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR5 | Storage: 2x 1TB Samsung 990 Pro (Windows 11/Pop!_OS) | Case: Fractal Design Define 7 Compact |

Laptop: 2023 MacBook Pro 14" | 12 core M2 Pro | 32 GB Unified Memory |

NAS: Synology DS216+II

Only if they are all accessing the internet at the same time. Otherwise, no.

Just FYI, but the ports are Gigabit... you're confusing network speed with internet speeds in your original post.
