Radeon Problems In need of help

So i recently made the switch to radeon and ive quickly ran into a huge problem i cant switch to 144hz at my custom res. yes i have the correct port, yes it gives me the option but every time i switch to 144hz it goes to a very low res i believe its like 600x400 or something similar any help will be much appreciated

What cable are you using?

also try to DDU and reinstall your drivers. (run DDU, then reinstall drivers)

then pick a resolution/refresh rate that the monitor actually supports

Have you tried resetting the resolution after switching to 144hz?

Yes i have tried switching res. after it switches back to 59hz and im currently using the only cable my benq xl2411 supports for 144hz a dvi cable
