Surveilance Cam

I wanted to rearange my room and put my desk at another position but the problem is then i can't see the door and family can creep on me, so i thought about putting a camera that sees the front of my door.

It should be able to show me an image on a monitor at my desk and play a sound if it detects motion, but not be too expensive, night vision is nice to have, not too important.

 

The options i saw so far where some Netcams and raspberry with OpenCV and Motion Pi but its never bad to see what other people are suggesting

Check out the Wyzecam, the V2 is releasing this week, not sure if it is available in Europe tho... From what I have seen it is an extremely impressive camera for $20.

I know it will do all that you ask to your phone, just not sure if there is a way to have it go to your computer... I did find threads of people running the app on there computer in an Android emulator like Bluestacks.

 

If it is something that concerns you, be sure to read into the claims of it sending information to Chinese servers (which the manufacture says it shouldn't be doing and was looking into it) so you fully understand what risks there are.
