Hi I have Corsair TX650M PSU which comes with a single 4 X molex cable

I was thinking about getting one of these - https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CP-8920196-Premium-Individually-Peripheral/dp/B01NBJC1ID and simply add it to my PSU

Is this doable ? is there any part compatibility for PSU I can look at ?

TX650M Gold, right?  Not Bronze?

If it's the newer TX Gold, you're good.

Using that amazon part can kill your entire PC.

I don't know what you're seeing.  The link he provided was for an actual Corsair made part.

TX650M actually comes with TWO Molex cables with four connectors each.   Not one.

I was on the side of caution as from what I saw you need a Type 3 cable, looking further the new gold model has support for both.

If i'm not mistaken "Four Pin Peripheral Connector" is molex right? the bronze has 8 whilst the gold has 4?

Which means he should have the gold one? so the cable he linked should be okay.

Ah.. That's right.  They went from two Molex connector cables to one as Molex connectors became less common in PCs due to a rise in SATA connectors.

That leads to my next question... Why in the world does anyone need 8 Molex connectors?

Type 3 and Type 4 are the same except for the ATX main cable. Everything else (peripherials, PCIe, CPU) are interchangable. The Type 4 have the mything epic Capacitor in Cable. Type 3 do not.

Yes it's the gold 80+

When looking at this part description in corsair site (http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/premium-individually-sleeved-peripheral-cable-type-4-generation-3-white) I can see it only supports RMi, RMx, SF, I think I will go with CP-8920112 which seems to support txm series.

I told you, if it's the 80 PLUS Gold, it's good.

As @Stefan Payne pointed out, Type 3 and Type 4 are the same when it comes to peripheral and SATA.
