I'm planning my first gaming PC. I want to play games up to 60 Hz 1440p and do some video and photo editing plus media consumption. Is this rig enough?

For esports and lighter game then sure, but 1060 is a 1080p card not a 1440p

As said by Linus in this video, the RX 570/580 on the AMD side and the GTX 1070 from Nvidia are best suited for 1440p.

Just barely, you'll want at least a 1070 for 1440p.

570 and 580 is not comparable to 1070. To 1060? Yes.

If you wanna do 1440p with a 1060, you might have to tune down the settings a bit. The 1070 is a better option, if you can find one for a decent price
