It's socket is LGA 775. It says on this site that it supports Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading and Celeron processors. Nothing about core 2's of any sort

then a pentium 4 is your best cpu, celerons are worse.

You could reuse the powersupply. Modern stuff uses a lot less power than it uses to. My old build got away with 330w.

But you can't use that celeron as its basically a core 2 duo thats a bit slower. You have to use the celerons based off the pentium4 of the time and those were slower. A celeron is just a cust down higher end chip.

The problem is that it is a fairly old PSU and has high chances of EXPLODING. Isn't that just fun

But it will be so much faster. Even a newer i5 optiplex with a igpu will be faster than this sytem with a dgpu in games. The cpu in this system is that bad.

but just because you got it for free doesn't mean upgrading it is the best way to have a cheap gaming pc. Its so old its useless and will leave you with a slower pc than you can get with 200 bucks.

Why would you put in anything better than a 7570? They are like $20 on eBay. Anything higher would be bottlenecked
