I have a CPU, Motherboard, and a case

I am wanting to install my CPU and Motherboard in my case, however i am not sure because i am getting the CPU cooler for Christmas

Would it be ok to install the motherboard with the CPU into the case without a cooler for a while ?

BTW i am not turning it on

Thanks

You can install it without a cooler but for the love of god don't use it without one.

I wasn't planning on using it, will i need to clean it before installing the cooler if i put it in just now ?

Wait to get all the parts before you put it together, there's no point if building it yet if you don't have everything you need and it will avoid any possible damage that can be caused by accidents.

The CPU? It's not essential but it is recommended to get the cleanest of surfaces between the CPU and the cooler.

well depending on the cooler and the case you might just want to wait it out... it can save you alot of trouble installing the cooler outside the case.

I am going to be installing the cooler inside the case anyway

I have an R4 and 212 Evo

well i guess you are fine then, should be ok... i would suggest getting another fan for the evo, the stock fans that come with it do not impress me at all...

well i wouldn't be to fussed about it, you can just wipe over it with some lint free cloth(perhaps even some toilet paper) before you apply thermal paste just to make sure theres no dust/hair or the like, it's fine as long as the surface is clean, so nothing gets in the way of transfering heat.

like everyone else has said, don't use it.

but overall, MY ADVICE, don't do this. Because you will be allowing impurities in the air (like dust and what not) to contact the CPU. so when you finally put thermal paste down, the surface of the CPU will have impurities and therefore won't dissipate heat as well as it could do.. So i personally wouldn't move an inch until you get that cooler and can install it all at once.
