Hi guys, First post and I already need help  :P

I'm planning to build a custom loop , I read the sticky but it got me even more confused

So far my build is

HAF XB Case

I7 3770k

MSI GD46 gaming Mobo

2x AMD r9 290x

Corsair 850 PSU

and the rest is irrelevent

I want to build a custom loop that can handle all that

I need to know if this kit would do the job? http://products.ncix.com/detail/xspc-raystorm-d5-ex360-water-cooling-kit-am2-am2-am3-am3-lga2011-1366-1156-1155-775-bf-79208-1198.htm

Will one rad do the job? if not how many would i need for optimum cooling?

For a 3770K and 2 R9 290Xes? It will work, but you won't be satisfied with the temperatures. Try to put more rads in the case. Maybe an extra 240MM. If not, get a new case.

  • 3 months later...

Hey guys just a small follow up. Thanks to all your help i got my water cooling rig finished

The products I used are

XSPC Raystorm 750 AX240 Water Cooling Kit

XSPC Razor R9 290X X2

Black Ice GTS Stealth 120 Gen Two Stealth Single 120mm Fan Radiator

Feser One Fluid Pure Blue NON-CONDUCTIVE

I didn't change my case since i wanted to invest in the water cooling rig. this may not be enough for some of you guys but it made wonders for me!!

The CPU on idle is at 31 degrees and no more than 45-50 under load

My two r9 290x are 31 degrees on idle and 42 degrees on load. It was well worth my investment and I'm happy I didn't mess things up . No leaks or bubbles . I'm proud of myself

Again thank you all for your help and advice!

congratulations!

keep a close eye on the 750 pump. it generally is not a recommended pump for multi-block

use. too much restriction and the pump will die a slow death or just quit. great temperatures,

what voltages on the overclocks?

No overclocks. did this for noise and temperature.

how will i know if the pump dies?

temps creeping higher and higher. watch your reservoir "swirling pattern" for low/no

activity. these pumps were mainly for single block use. a couple LTT members went

the 750 for "budget" and got dead pump syndrome in under 2weeks.

I'll keep an eye on that for sure. So far so good *knock on wood*

Worse case i can replace the pump with the D5. Is the D5 any good?
