Im not sure where to put this. But i filed my taxes a week ago. And im getting just shy of 1 grand. I have my parts picked, im just waiting for the money to go through.

Core I7 8700K

GIGABYTE Z370P D3

Hyper 212 LED

EVGA supernova 650W 80+ gold (high wattage for the gpu later on)

XPG GAMMIX S10 128 gb nvme ssd

Corsair vengeance lpx ram (8gb stick. Will get another one later on)

Corsair carbide 100r case

Arctic silver 5 paste

(No new GPU. Will be using my old RX 460 2gb until gtx 1080ti's either come back into stock or prices come back down)

Ive looked everywhere and cant find anything about how games will do from a new cpu with an old gpu. Given my specs right now how do u think games like GTAV will run?

provided you take it easy on every graphical setting the cpu will help you out.

Gta 5 takes advantage of every other thread on a cpu core so yeah it should run fine. won't LOOK great but it run pretty good.

That wouldn't be a problem.

I run a Ryzen 5 1600 paired with a GTX 780 without any troubles.

The fps will be high provided you set the gpu to whatever settings are needed to get that high framerate.

I don't own an rx460 so you will have to be the one to tune it and find out what settings it likes.

The old system the gpu was in only gave me 20 to 40 fps on low settings. Im hoping it was just the cpu was bottle necking as it was an fx4300.

Without know the exact circumstances the machine was put under it's hard to tell why it would run that bad. The game should run on anything q6600 and higher. Unless you were playing online in which case you never benchmark a game running over a network to determine speed.
