Not likely. How far out of date is your version of Windows 10? Most stay up to date via Windows Updates.

Yes. It should give you the option to upgrade rather than do a reinstall when you load it up.

But do I have to boot from the usb? Because I can’t do the windows 10 update assistant because I cannot get internet where I live

You can use the Windows 10 setup to upgrade to the latest version.

Just do the same procedure as upgrading a previous version of Windows to the this one. In other words, boot from disk or USB flash drive, pick keyboard/language, hit Install, and pick Upgrade.

How do I make it bigger

You need to use a disk partitioning software. Windows disk utility doesn't support the advance task needed.

The steps you need to do are (Backup everything you have in your C:\ partition/drive before starting):

  1. Shrink (Resize) C:\ partition a bit (so that the added space with the System Reserved partition is 500MB of greater)
  2. Move the free space next to System Reserved partition (this is can be very time consuming)
  3. Expand System Reserved Partition to take the free space next to it.

Alternatively, you can backup your stuff, and clean install Windows. This time, delete all partitions in the main drive, and let Windows recreate the partitions it needs. And on your way, if you have a UEFI capable system, make sure it is configured properly before re-installing Windows. That means:

  • UEFI mode enabled
  • Fast Boot enabled
  • CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is turned off
  • XMP is set to Profile 1 (assuming you ddidn't overclock your RAM)
  • SATA controller is set to AHCI mode (assuming you have a drive on your SATA controller, and not M.2 PCie drive)
  • Nothing set to Legacy mode anywhere
