So, a 2018 resolution was to be more social in however I can be (which is currently restricted to online... thanks, awful weather), so, I am fairly new, been lurking for a few days in between working on art commissions, and trying to fight my 6yr old PC into cooperating for maybe another a year.

Hi! I'm Snowhawk. Well, that's not my "real" name, but I've gone by it online for 18 years this November, so more than half my life. Might as well be at this point. (Yep, I will respond to it in RL as well.)

I'm an artist, writer, and currently stay-at-home-mom to a tiny human and my dog, and I happen to have a few invisible illnesses. We live somewhere in the rural part of NY state, and I swear, there are more banjos playing around here than back home in TN... And I lived out in the county there. It's also stupidly cold and my health issues do not play nice with that. Working on getting the funds to move back to Austin, TX, because I hadn't hurt that little in over 20 years for the year+ we lived there.

I'm in that weird age spot where I remember a lot of old memes, and they are still and forever relevant to me. I've worked with people younger than ICHC, including one who didn't know of the lolrus, and it's kinda frightening to think of. (Also I felt really old.) Yes, I've pulled out the "you damn kids" and "back in my day" at work, when they're talking about the internet.

My tech needs are a little differently aligned than most gamers (being as most of my work involves art programs, an old Wacom Intuos3 tablet, and way, way too many layers... I am not really a 3d modeling type), and if Apple hadn't made me give up on them, I probably wouldn't be here, writing this. I am still super salty over the iPad, and how it's only, just now, becoming a thing that artists actually want. That's not to say I don't typically look at "gamer" products, most of them will work for me.

I'm rambly, overuse parenthese, and will forget I've said a thing sometimes really, really quickly.

Back to lurking!

Hi, I'm a forum noob though no stranger to LTT and I'm in the UK in a very rural area.

I'm a stop at home dad with three little terrors, 2 boys and a girl, and just had the thought the forum is a good place to meet and chat with people. People are difficult to meet if ya don't get out much!!!!!

I work from home repairing laptops mainly although I will have a go at repairing most tech, I also spend two half days a week helping out people, mainly older, with their computers as a charity/no charge project with a local charity. I just got pissed off with the older generation being charged £60/hour for really simple jobs that take ten minutes to solve/fix. Most people I see just like having a chat and a cup of coffee....

Welcome and enjoy, everyone here seems helpful and friendly and it's a good place to spend an hour or two.....

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
