Solid front vs mesh front

Which is more effective at cooling down the case and components, or is there no difference. I would imagine a case with a mesh front would allow for more airflow as opposed to the openings for air around the solid front. Would it be the solid front with brushed aluminum is more for asthetic over cooling, and the mesh front is for maximum cooling capability?

the mesh is ofcourse going to cool better than just a solid slab of aluminium. Gamers Nexus has been on somewhat of a crusade about this lately

this more or less is why manufacturers make these kinds of fronts

Yes. Do note that some have front side vents to introduce air into the system from the front but they are not the best. If airflow is what you are looking for, I would choose a mesh front.

 

Adding to the GN video above, lack of airflow is also one of HardwareCanuck's worst PC trends of 2017.

I agree.

Had both and with the mesh one there's lot more airflow, while with the solid the look is cleaner and there's lot less noise, even though the fans are running at higher speed due to the worst airflow available

It depends the distance between the front panel and the fans if it has air flow or not.
