sadly the only thing coming close to MSRP right now is secondhand units, and those come with their own slew of problems! :/

If you are in the states, go on Nvidia, evga, etc and click the auto notify and pray your fast enough. A few vendors on amazon are too bad but really depends.

Last place I seen that offered a consistent price was saberpcs, they charge a bit more on amazon then they do their own site. Still $800 bucks though. Best deal at micro center was $709 for pny plactic blowers.

... Do like us miners do.

EVGA auto-notify then grab them up as soon as you get the email for close to MSRP. 770ish for 1080ti ftw 3

Work for a company that you can buy them for pretty much cost with employee discount. (I use this one the most)

Watch craiglist and snap up all of the ones you can. People list them high, but many can be talked into drastically lowering their prices.

Lastly if you have a premium microcenter account (Do lots of business there) then from my experience if you talk to a manager and explain you are building systems for friends or as a side venture they will sell you multiple cards at MSRP. I have secured maybe 3-4 this way so far.

I only use my nvidia cards for gaming, but I have used the methods above to also secure 480-580's. I also have a few 1080ti's atm... just made 1900 on 2 1070's I sold... then I purchased another 1080ti and 2 1080's with that money. Honestly, sell high and buy low all day. Just takes time and patience.

2 letters: NO. Shit like this is why gamers detest miners. They don't like you because shit like this is a major contributing factor to drastically inflated prices and the lack of stock.

That is not the miners fault, no more than it is the gamer's fault that is.

The problem is the manufacturers cannot supply enough cards due to poor planning. Next is the fact that the retailers are trying to make a quick money grab off this situation and are inflating their prices. Neither of these is the problem of the miners. If anything the miners are the biggest victim here, he have higher need than gamers do for these cards and are forced to pay higher prices on higher quantities of them. This drastically effects our bottom line and drastically affects are RoP (Rate of Payback).

So if you want to detest miners be my guest, but you are pointing the blame at the wrong person.

Are you kidding me? Tell that to the people who are trying to build their FIRST pc, and you are going and buying up EVERYTHING in sight before they can even look at it, let alone touch it.

Once again that problem is a direct result of the manufacturers not reading the trends and adjusting accordingly. The prices are a direct result of the retailers trying to make a quick buck.

So anyone buying GPU's would have caused this if the demand was there. The thing is, I more fully utilize my cards than any gamer will... which means I have the best use case for them. On top of that they are profitable for me, which in turn means I purchase more cards. So I am the perfect customer from that point of view.

Honestly, the cards are there. If they weren't we wouldn't be able to continue to buy them. Now you can't just walk in to any store and get one, but if you spend a week you can 100% get a card if you really want one. I mean I am willing to turn around and sell off a few 480's for say $400 each if anyone really wants one. I can replace them with 580's without much concern.

Please, continue to sit up on your high horse and demonstrate your ignorance of the full situation for us all.

I am not on a high horse. I am not the one complaining about the GPU prices or stock levels. This is supply and demand 101.

I just think that people are pointing the blame at the wrong people.

Cards are still available, you just have to work a little harder to get them.

We are funding AMD and Nvidia very well atm... which in return will lead to bigger R&D budgets. These budgets will mean they might be able to focus on having barebone gpus that are only really good at crunching numbers and other cryptography algorithms.

So you will get specialized cards for this issue moving forward (hopefully) and you will also get better more powerful gaming cards due to the R&D funding.

Don't be so short sighted. Also since all of us miners are the pioneers and founding fathers of decentralized currency... you will want to start appreciating us.. as we will be the ones here to help support people when the next recession kicks in. So hate us now if you must, but we will be the saviors to the US economy one day.
