im currently use dual xeon e5620 2.4ghz and 8gb 1333mhz (2x4gb) unbuffered non ecc ram. im experiencing fps drop from dota 2 ultra setting @1080p to average of 30. so im looking for what causing the bottleneck , cuz im using evga gtx950 sc+ . its more than enough to run dota2 ultra with more than 60fps. the drive already changed to ssd. so i think the ram and processor are the problems.

as for the ram, i already ordered 24gb 1333mhz (6*4gb) ecc ram. currently running on windows 10 64-pro .
i have xeon  X5687 in mind due to the high base clock at 3.6ghz... but i have a problem determining neither it supported or not with my supermicro X8DTL-i motherboard. i search on the net but none is showing  X5687 compatibility with my motherboard. if you have experienced the same fps drop or knowledgeable  of the actual problem , please share it

Hard to tell, but I would blame the GPU for that, 950 has a 2Gb frame buffer, so possibly that's the issue.

I think your memory has a 2gb frame buffer. The 950 or a gpu bottleneck doesnt cause stutter, even if you go over the vram limit.

If your ram usage hits 50% usage, does your browser or other programs start to lag?

nop... i dont experience any lag , and i only play song while gaming.. no other background apps are active other than antivirus and evga precission. the game it self dont lag, just a frame drop from 90 to 30...and at the end of game DOTA 2 the frame drop miserably to 20fps

cpu didnt even reach 30% ... this problem really outwitted my brain so bad...i play devil may cry 5 and flawlessly running at 190fps .

Its a game problem then. Not a hardware problem most likely.
