Is this a good build for the new Ryzen Apu's?

My friend wants to play PUBG and fortnite, but doesn't have much money for a gaming PC. The new ryzen APU's seem like a great deal. I don't think that the 2200g with Vega 8 is good enough for pubg, so I decided to get the 1500x equivalent, the 2400g. This is the build I put together, he needed a monitor too, so I decided to do a 900p monitor to try to get some more performance. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FXrPxG

that is the build, just replace the 1500x with the 2400g.

That link seems to be broken - copy the "permalink" at the top of the parts list instead of the one from your browser's URL bar.

The motherboard only has a single DVI output, the SSD is pretty bad, and a 900p monitor?

:)

Its the equivalent of a GT 1030, so yes, 900p. DVI is fine, he wont need more than 1 monitor

That's a decent build, but I would suggest getting a 1080p monitor. You can get a decent one for the same price. The new APU's can handle 1080p pretty well.

the SSD is just a budget SSD thats better than an HDD.

Pubg may just not work for the APU. I wouls recommend to get a 1080p monitor and then he can just switch down the res when he plays pubg. This would let him play fornite at 1080p. You can also get a 1080p monitor for the same price

Well I have seen pubg benchmarks on the Gt 1030, which seems to be the equivalent of Vega 11. It can run at 60 fps on 900p low. Which is why I was thinking if he wouldn't mind, a smaller monitor might be fine

I mean I am aware that pubg was tailored to work best for Nvidia GPU's, but it shouldn't give less than 45 fps

You might consider looking for a used 750 Ti and getting an R3 1200.  I just bought two 750 Ti's for $50US, and they're noticeably better than both the 1030 and 2400g.  You can also save some money by getting 2400MHz RAM.  While Ryzen does benefit from faster RAM, the benefit isn't worth making sacrifices in other parts of your system.

Of course, you can just turn off V-Sync (or use triple buffering) on PUBG so the occasional drop below 60fps isn't noticeable.  The reason we're suggesting a 1080p monitors is because we assume that eventually you'll want to upgrade the system, and a crappy monitor will really hold it back. Especially since you're not saving any money by getting a lower resolution.  If you want a 900p monitor for cheap, just go to a thrift store and get one for $20.

Alright... I think I guess in my opinion it would be better to get the 2400g and a 1080p monitor now. The 1500x is more future proof than a 1200, and it would be easier to just buy a dedicated GPU at some point than to buy a ryzen 1200 and a 750ti and have to upgrade them at the same time.

If you upgrade, go to a 1600 (or 2600 if it's out).  The 1200 and 1500x don't perform that different.  You also don't want to buy the X models in R5/R7, because they don't come with coolers.

Since you're sticking with the 2400g (which isn't a bad choice, I was just offering alternatives), I suggest going with cheaper RAM and spending the extra money on a B series motherboard so you can overclock.  Even if you don't do it now, you'll want the option in the future.  This is a decent one for not much more.  When choosing between faster RAM and overclocking, you want the latter.  You can also overclock the RAM anyway, although probably not that high.
