Yeah if the fan's better on the be quiet!, then I'd hedge for that. The Pure Power 10 is also cheaper so bonus points

hey guys,

so a buddy of mine needs a new psu. his specs are:

amd fx 8120

gtx 970

no fancy feature like modular or semi passiv just good quality psu. budget is around 50 - 70 euro but lower is better.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

This should be enough power.

https://www.caseking.de/be-quiet-pure-power-10-80-plus-silber-netzteil-400-watt-nebe-164.html

If you want something with more than 400W (though 400 is going to be enough), buy this one

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01CQ4AO3A/

Any Pure Power 10 / Corsair Vengeance PSU is very good.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

You shouldn't care about efficiency. Out of the two, in electrical performance I'd choose the Vengeance. It's one of Corsair's best units and it's priced as though it's not

be quiet has the lower rpm fan, the lower end corsairs are AFAIK rather loudly in low load conditions.

Maybe, but the difference in electrical performance isn't that huge...

And also there aren't many reviews from both of them (Jonnyguru reviewed the Vengeance but did not do the Pure Power, others did Pure Power but not Vengeance, so not easy to compare those two)...

i laughed when i saw that because that focus gold was the first suggestion that came to my mind as well but im not good with psu`s and thought surely there must be some cheaper but still good psu out there

i shouldnt care about effiency? doesnt higher certification also indicate higher end components?

good to know thanks. definitly something im considering important for his rig needs to get quieter over all so good first step here

also i found the vengeance listed with 3x 12v at 25A not sure what that means but the bequiet only had 2x 12v (28/20A)

yeah thats an easy win if they are truly this close in qulity then a better fan becomes kinda more important.

That's the Focus Plus Gold, though. Not to be confused with the semi modular Focus Gold

:)
