from linus' CES announcements dolby headphone will be added to corsair vengeance 2K headphones as a driver and will be applied to previously sold versions.

corsair listened to our complaints on their forums. they are making their way to being my favorite manufacturer.

to be honest I was very close to getting rid of this headset... I think I might keep them now.

Forget the 7.1, get some good headphones like Audio Technica ATH-M50, Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro or DT770 Pro. I compared the DT990 Pros with a G930, and heard no difference. So did two of my friends and my dad. And those G930s sound absolutely rubbish in comparision (Tinny and synthetic).

How does virtual 7.1 distinguish sound that's from in front of you and from behind you? If all it does it create a time delay between the left and right ear, then it shouldn't be possible to tell if the sound is, for example, coming from the front right or from the back right. I've read that humans can usually distinguish these two possibilities, because the sound from the front hits your ears drums first before echoing off the back ear lobes. If all you have is a speaker coming directly from the side, how can 2.1 headphones replicate this? Any insight would be much appreciated!
