-snip-

I klnow this post was a long ways ago but I think you are missing some steps here:

  1. Why no prep on the metal after scuffing up the surface? You should at least water/detergent/mild acid bath the metal prior to finish.
  2. Why no primer?
  3. You should make a note to ensure to have a proper bend radii on a sheet metal bend? I cant tell from your photo but the bend looks too sharp and you have micr stress fractures on the OML of the bend.
  4. Why no deburring of the cut and stock edges?

I'm working on one now. :)

You can see my progress here. http://www.tenforums.com/chillout-room/41940-building-custom-psu-shroud.html#post580092

Unlike the OP, I have to cut and bend the metal myself.

Not perfect but functional. (that gap)

The thing about custom shroud is you can basically make it to your liking.

In your 'case' (I'm so funny), you could make small openings for that front panel audio cable(?) to go through from the shroud so that it doesn't show up that way, route it behind and under mobo tray.

And maybe for the GPU cables too so that it runs straight up instead of running through the hole beside the mobo (at least I like it that way, looks good if you have nice cables)

I won't say anything about those case stickers though.

Personal opinion :P
