So im looking around for a small HTPC case. I wouldnt mind if the case had a built in PSU, but im using a 65W TDP processor, and a mini-itx mobo.

i kinda want one of those HTPC boxes that have a cable like a laptop to deliver power. 150W-200W would probably be the max i would need in any situation. any help?

but i just kinda want something to house the mobo (there is no GPU, just the iGPU).

PSU wise, get a picoPSU. They have versions that can deliver 150-200W and use an external power block to convert AC to DC, like a laptop.

Case wise, you can basically whatever you want if you use a picoPSU, the only worry you'll have is cooling.

what part of the picoPSU would you need to cool? the converter part?

I meant cooling the CPU, not the PSU, the case needs to allow installation of a decent cooler for the CPU.

The picoPSU itself doesn't need cooling, it only does DC/DC conversion which can be done really efficient, so efficient in fact it doesn't need cooling.

The external powerbrick shouldn't be a worry either. It's an enclosed thingy that just, works. Plug it in and off you go, like a normal laptop charger.

cooling the cpu wont be a problem i think. but finding the right small case is what im looking for. a small pc with a plug in psu

A case not exactly meant to be an HTPC I've seen be used is the EVGA Hadron; or the CoolerMaster Elite 110(doesn't include PSU but is very cheap and a small standard one would work)

Sorry I don't really like the tradition HTPC cases I find most of them full of too many compromises
