Hello, my 2,5 year old pc has recently been freezing and rebooting randomly while under load and I am pretty sure it is the power supply since I have tried many other things that did not work. System specs:

CPU: amd fx 6350

GPU: nvidia gtx 1050ti

Motherboard: asrock 980de3/u3s3

Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Crucial Ballistix sport

Storage: 1TB seagate st1000dm010

PSU: Corsair Cx 430M

Is it actually the PSU or could I try something else?

Its not overheating since idle the temps are around the 20s or 30s (CPU and GPU respectively)

And under load they are in the 50s and 60s (CPU and GPU respectively)

Should I get something with more wattage or just get the same model (can't rma warranty has ran out)

430W is fine for that system.

That PSU has a mechanism to restart itself when it gets relatively hot. Perhaps make sure the fan is not clogged up with dust and make sure there's plenty of airflow for it. If the PSU fan is intaking air from your system then flip it around so it gets external air.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Perhaps get something with a little more wiggle room. Also buy something that's at least 80+ Gold, it's 2018 man...

Efficiency and the current year don't really matter. The Corsair Vengeance is an amazing PSU that's 80 PLUS Bronze, it came out 2017.

The CX430M isn't that old, even though it's group-regulated and not amazing. It can handily power an old FX 6XXX and a 1050 Ti. I'm thinking OP's motherboard is the issue.

430W is already plenty of overhead, and efficiency says nothing about how good a PSU is.

The Vengeance is bronze rated, while the G1 is gold rated. The Vengeance is a much better unit

:)

So I should be opting for both a new PSU and MB?

I never said that efficiency means a better unit overall, I was making a statement about how silly it is to buy anything less than 80+ Gold. I'm just suggesting to OP that he should buy something new that has more room to work with and a higher efficency never hurts.

And how is the extra 5% of efficiency going to help him in any way?

It's better to just buy a better unit, regardless of efficiency

:)

Problem is I am kinda broke and can't really spend more than 100 Euro on a new PSU...

If you can get your hands on a new PSU, I really believe it's the PSU. I had a very similar problem you had and it turned out to be a faulty PSU (and it was 5 years old at the time lol).

Welp, I guess PSU it is then.

Try replacing one before replacing the other, but look into one of those first, yes.
