Can my PSU run a GTX 1070 TI?

Was wondering if my PSU/computer could run a 1070ti thank you.

GPU: AMD R9 280X

SSD: Samsung 750 EVO 250GB

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB

RAM: HyperX Savage DDR3 1600 C9 2x4GB

MBD: Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H-CF

PSU: SilverStone ST50F-ES230 Essential 230V 500W

Yes you can, 500w is the minimum recommended by nvidia https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1070-ti/

You be good the 1070Ti uses less power then the R9 280X

yes but that unit seems pretty low quality. i'd switch it for a corsair CX450/M or be quiet pure power 10.

Thanks yeah this was a budget PSU when i didn't have a job, thanks for the advice i just wanted to know if 500W was enough of this power supply unit since it is a cheapish brand

Sure! I doubt you'd ever find your PC pulling even 300 W.

Yeah def I was running a GTX 1080 overclocked on a 400 watt supply for sometime with no issues 

 

As long as your PSU is a quality one, the power requirements are highly exaggerated.  A decent amount of pre builts have a 1080 Ti running on a 500+ PSU with no issue
