On my last post, people told me to go for a cheaper motherboard, and spend more on the cooler and case. Well... I managed to get a better build with better parts. I managed to fix the 6GB 1060, and the i3 8350K, and a better cooler and case (I.M.O) for $40 more. I'm going to list the parts down below and tell me what you think! Also please tell me a good website to get Windows 10 (Pro) for cheap and the best fans because I have not put those on the list yet. Thanks!

Why do you think you would need Win 10 Pro? What are you going to use your PC for?

Wait several months for GPU prices to come back down to sane levels and you'll have enough leeway to get an i5 8600K instead of the 8350K.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

Here's a google sheet for fans; however, Don't go entirely off of the numbers - some companies fudge numbers. (I'm going to do tests in a year or so to validify some of 'em).

Tabs are at the bottom for different fan sizes.

Quiet PWM Fan Options

Here's a quote of some good, silent fans from: Quiet PWM Fan Options

Quote

For minimum noise and alright airflow (list in order from highest airflow to lowest):

Fractal Design - X2 GP-14 (White) 68.4 CFM @18.9 dBa

NoiseBlocker - NB-eLoop B14-2 64.3 CFM @ 16.9 dBa

be quiet! - SilentWings 3 pwm 59.5 CFM @ 15.5 dBa

Noctua - NF-P14s redux-900 49.3 CFM @ 13.2 dBa

NoiseBlocker - NB-BlackSilentFan XK-1 35.3 CFM @ 13dBa

I haven't used the FD's fan, so I'm hesitant to put it on (but the info about it says I should).

All of them are great - it's basically how much airflow you want and which one you like the look of the best.

I'd recommend with going for 140mm fans above 120mm. They're able to move more air with less noise.

Edit: You'd be able to put 4 140mm fans in the Carbide 400C and reduce the fan's power level. This would get you a very quiet configuration, but you'd have to pay extra for them.

"Game mode" is present in all mainstream versions of 10. And Game mode doesn't really do anything to be frank.

Pro has mainly security (Bitlocker) and virtualization (namely HyperV) features that make it much more attractive to professionals, prosumers, and businesses. For gaming, none of the features offered by Pro really make a difference as compared to Home.

I'm surprised you went the exact opposite of what I would imagine you'd change.

you're now spending 300$ on the cpu and cooler.... half of which is the cooler..... when you can just air cool a better cpu?

you're blowing 110 on a 750w power supply you don't need , you're spending almost as much on the board as you are the ram.

it's a freaking mess

Not just this, you can run Windows 10 without ever paying for activation. I recommend people do this because Microsoft's making money off your data anyway, selling it to advertisers so they can show you the ads that are most likely to make you buy a thing.

I mean, for $40 more. It's pretty good and more well rounded. What's the max I should get on a power supply?

I'd also recommend that you go with air cooling. Overall, it's more practical than watercooling for this CPU. You could go for a Hyper 212 Evo on the cheap or a Noctua D14/D15(Best)/D15s for high end. I would guarantee that those Noctua coolers would be quieter than that AIO.

Don't buy a Hyper 212 Evo! It's so bad for its price. Here's a list of 20+ coolers that are better than it and cost around the same:

The RM550x would be more than enough wattage-wise. It's still a tier 1 and saving you $35.

Generally, I'd recommend that you go with semi-modular instead of fully. Your build isn't that high end, so money would be better allocated elsewhere.

A good Semi-modular PSU would be the TXM 550W Gold. It's got a $20 rebate (for a week) and a discount on top of it - making it a very good choice. It's a Tier 2, but that's totally fine with your build.

I don't know where you got the costs as being around the same - from the ones I looked at (10-20) most are double to triple the cost.

Yes, I'd agree that all of them are better; but most aren't close to the cost ( windale, H7,  and a couple others to get a bit closer)

For a couple things - yes; for some - no.

The GPU upgrade is good - a better one for cheaper.

The upgrade in cooling is a step in the right direction, but you don't need water cooling.

Most people would also agree that the case is better than the Inwin 301C.

I got bad picks the first build when it should've been cheaper. I took my time on this one and found cheaper card, better cooler, and more ram. I also like the board and case. And I'm find with having this type of cooler unless there is a cheaper one. And I am going to switch out the power supply like you said. And if there is any cheaper small atx cases with a ps shroud. Please tell me.

I was thinking of the 301c. But isn't it matx? And the 303c is atx?

The S340, Eclipse P400, and the Enthoo Pro M all have PSU shrouds if I remember correctly.

As I stated earlier, I'd recommend you go for the D14/D15(Best)/D15s. It's overkill for CPU, but would let you overclock and would be quiet while doing so (And also be usable for some higher wattage, future CPUs). Also, I'd check compatibility with the cases and the CPU cooler; the coolers are 160/165/160 mm respectively.

I do like the liquid cooler because of the RGB accent though. And isn't the i3 better than the i5 7600K? So shouldn't the liquid cooler be good?

The TDPs of both the 8350k and the 7600k are the same at 91 watts - not really too high compared to some CPUs like the FX-9590 at 220 watts.

The Kraken X52 is a 240mm which is beaten by the X62, a 280mm radiator)

For comparison, here is the X62 (better than the X52) against the D15.(link) Although it is 2 degrees Celcius cooler than the D15, it's over double as loud.

And you're looking at a worse AIO than the X62.

As for looks - that's up to you. You could always replace the fans on both.
