Hi,

I currently have a 1tb HDD with Windows 8.1 on it, and I have just bought an SSD with the idea of putting Windows 10 on it. I unplugged my HDD and plugged my SSD in and installed windows, and now I have plugged both of them in. Everything is working perfectly, but how would I get rid of Windows 8.1 on my HDD? Should I have done things differently?

Thanks in advance.

Boot to your SSD, and hit Windows+R on the keyboard. Type in diskmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

From there, you can format your hard drive and delete all the data from it, assuming you don't need it. If you do need it, you can go to the file explorer and copy them from your hard drive to your SSD.

if you plan on formatting the drive completely check the games your going to lose. some games like max payne 3 and wolfenstein dont auto save through steam. you will have tp back up those saves. otherwise your best bet is to format and re-install all your games.
