Yup. The Lenovo Y520 Legion has a GTX 1060 desktop variant. Unless there's a suffix after it, then it'll be a mobile variant which is typically shown with 'M'. A couple years back, the 'M' variants would've been much more prevalent due to the heat output of the desktop chips but we've come to a point where desktop chips are alright in terms of heat output. It'll still be hot. Don't get me wrong but you'll get more power out of it compared to an M variant.

Haha yeah depends on what you need the laptop for. I would suggest making a new topic in this subsection just so we don't end up spamming OP. 

 

But to answer you, it looks like they've changed up the graphics cards a little. It used to be 1060 3GB and 6GB for the 1060. Now it's only the 3GB  variant. 

 

Also, if you were to look at another region for Lenovo, it might have slightly different specs for a different price as well even though they're the same model. 

 

I don't know what your budget is either but the MS Surface costs quite a bit so you could go with a different laptop if that's your budget.
