I built a new computer, but it will not show the picture on the monitor

Jerry_007

I built a new computer,

Components (All New):
Motherboard: Asus H170-PRO
CPU: i3-8100
RAM: 8GB 2133 MHz Kingstor Hyper X Fury DDR4
Power: CoolerMaster 500
HDD: 1000 GB
GPU: No

When I turn it on, everything works normally, it not turn off alone, just does not have a picture on the monitor as if it was not a computer running.

And only it I can turn it off on the power button.
I build it three times and nothing, is the same.
I check it on three monitors and nothing.

Can anyone help about the problem?

100 or 200 series motherboards (your H170) / coffee lake (8th generation, so your i3 8100) aren't compatible with each other at all

you need to get a 300 series motherboards (example, Z370)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

can you double check what cpu and mobo you have?

because those two parts are not supposed to be compatible

i3 8100 is meant to run only on z370 chipset motherboards

i3 6100/7100 will run on H170 motherboards

LGA 1151 (your motherboard, chipset series 100/200) won't work with LGA 1151-vw2 (your CPU, chipset series 300)

Which you recommend a 4-core processor?

existing motherboard: buy a 6700/7700, no K

new motherboard: your only option is Z370.. so.. buy that..

really suggest going with a new motherboard. easy upgrade path in the future, and more cores! buying a z370 motherboard now means that you can buy a new CPU and overclock that later in the future, where as buying a new CPU for H170 means you're going to need to buy a whole new motherboard to even overclock, and by that time, you might as well move onto a new platform

Well, only Z370 works now but in a month H310, B360 and H370 will be released and all of them will work fine with the i3 8100

I forgot to track the chipset from my motherboard
I just watched Socket 1151, and I did not watch the chipset from the motherboard.
Do you know if it will soon work for the H170 or will never work?

In the future, use pcpartpicker to check if your parts are compatible before buying anything.
