M50x or M40?

So my friend Neb reccomended me the M50x's as i have been producing music on the Logitech G430's for 3 years now and finnaly they have broken.

 

Ive seen heaps of people saying that the M40's are amazing and that the M50x's are trash? Is this just people being fanboys or is the cheaper headphones actually better?

I've heard people say that the M50s are overhyped and that the M40 are as good and cheaper, but I haven't compared them myself so take that with a grain of salt.

m40 or m40x? In any case, they're both v-shaped but the m40x is more neutral than the m50x. As per your requirements, the m40x should serve you better.

I personally have the m40x with some brainwave pads on them and they are fantastic. The highs take a little bit of getting used to but they are definitely worth the money and are neutral enough to be used for making music.

Well, the M40x is simply newer and has several innovations over the M50x. Angled drivers is one of them. It's surprising that the M40x didn't just replace the M50x.

M40X is a good headphone, but only if you put some big pads like HM5 pads or Alpha pads. M50X is literally one of the worst headphones you could buy.

IMO, the M50x is not awful but way overpriced. There are better options for the money.

 

The worst headphone you could ever buy in my humble opinion is the Superlux 681. These things are an ergonomic torture device with treble bazookas that will give you permanent hearing loss. It just boggles my mind that this headphone ever got favorable reviews and much praise from Head-Fi. 

 

The earphone equivalent would be the KZ ZS5. It's nowhere near as bad as the Superlux. But I really don't get the hype.

Ok worst headphones you could buy was being a bit sarcastic. I don’t think the M50Xs are overpriced I think they are just bad no matter what price. But I don’t want to get into it now.
