My wireless gaming LAGGING NIGHTMARE.

silvinodino

Hi, so for the longest as I can remember PC gaming, I have ALWAYS had an issue with lag while gaming. My brother, who games next door to me in the other room has no issues with lag whatsoever because he is using a power line adapter, I tried this option too but it only made my connection slower. We live in a 7 bedroom  house. You can imagine how big the house is and how our little stock router from downstairs might have trouble keeping up with 7 different people using the internet (only 2 household members online game) the others stream Netflix. Please can anybody suggest some good products for me to purchase. I CANNOT deal with this lag anymore. I've been trying to bear with it but all it does is stress me out. I have looked into the Netgear Orbi and Google Wifi setup. If you can also suggest to me a GOOD, FAST PCIE- wireless network adapter for me to purchase. As I do believe my cheap $20 card is part of the problem. Price is not much of an issue, I just want this lag GONE. Thanks so much for your help if you comment and listening to me rant on, I just cant deal with this anymore....

Thank you!

P.S: Here is my current speedtest. It's weird because right now It's really high but about 30 mins ago it was at 30 mbps down. It fluctuates all the time. 7004175151.png

I should also note that a wired Ethernet connection is not at all possible.

I mean, what's more important? Speed or lag? Download speed doesn't affect gaming quality (I play fine on 1.8mbps broadband), but high ping does. How much did Powerline affect your speed? It may just be worth using it, even if it does sacrifice you some download speed.

I'm keeping everything else the way it was for anyone who might check out my answers in future, but I won't be using LTT.

Just run a really long cable on the floor, it doesn't need to be hardwired into the house. I got a 100ft one is my house that goes from my living room around the hall, up the stairs to the then back around to the same side of the house. If 100ft is to short buy like 150 to 200ft but you shouldn't need more than that.as long as you keep it close to the wall no one in your family should trip on it, though I do suggest leaving a good bit of slack each end just in case.
