Is KZ SPC upgrade cable worth it?

The silver upgrade cable?

No. Get it if your headphone cable breaks.

idk

Will sound quality actually improve?

Normally, I'd say 'No!', but I guess it really has to do with the IEM. I'd always believed that cable does absolutely diddly to affect SQ, that was until I'd tried an ALO Audio SXC 24 with my Fitear Parterre . Compared to the stock Fitear cable that came with the Parterre, I was surprised that I could hear a difference, but do bear in mind that was with a pair of higher end IEM's that apparently respond well to higher grade cables. But in the case of the upgrade KZ SPC cable, I'd say no....don't bother.

No, unless you stock cable is literal garbage, there’s no sound quality improvement with expensive cables, and silver cables are total snake oil.

Unfortunately as you can read in this head-fi thread https://www.head-fi.org/threads/knowledge-zenith-kz-impressions-thread.698148/page-842 plus my personal experience. Yes the Silver Plated Cable is not just an upgrade, basically removing anthing 'STOCK' form a KZ headphone apart from the actual earphone FIXES it. The first thing I did was change ear tips. it cleared up the highs mids and bass problem which sounded like it came out of a friggin drain pipe. Now with the upgrade cable (against all human understanding) the sound is like it's supposed to. clear, seperated and no frequency spots are missing and bass is even. it's such a big difference, that honestly when I got the KZ ES4s I used them with the standard ear tips and cable and I wanted to throw them in the trash can then and there (nearly did). Then I changed tips (which makes the biggest difference) and now with the Silver wire upgrade they sound as good as advertised if not better. If you do get the upgrade I'm sure you won't regret it. change the tips first tho.

Interesting...Unfortunately that kinda annoys me that the KZ IEM is $15 and then you have to spend another $15 for better tips and a cable. And then you spend over $30 before you know it. And some $30 IEMs sound so much better!

The Kz ES4 kinda impressed me when I first got them. Only because they didn’t sound like nails on a chalkboard knowing that they’re branded “KZ”. But over time I realized that the bass was muddy, the mids sounded weird (in a paper cup kinda way) and the highs were uneven. Now they’re sitting in a drawer. I prefer the ZSA out of the box personally. They just sound cleaner but the highs are unpleasantly sharper.

But the KEF M100 on eBay for $30. I swear that nothing sounds better for the $. These IEMs are basically flawless. They have a FLAT frequency response without any noticeable flaws. If these were from a Chinese brand they would get a lot more hype. So why buy cheap IEMs only to upgrade them with better cables and tips when you can buy something flawless for around the same money?
