No, changing the mobo is what needs reactivating Windows.

Honestly, its not that simple. I've taken hard drives and put them in completely different PCs and its been absolutely fine.

If its an oem system, then sometimes it can be linked to the bios, its a bit of a dice roll to be honest.

If its your licence then you should be able to call Microsoft to re-activate.

Upgrade to the i7 7700 / i7 7700k altogether already, the 7600k is a terrible value for its cost, it is overpriced and bad performing, only 4threads and so on.

The only worth upgrade is to the i7.

Just use your old boot drive, Windows will reinstall the drivers it needs to after the swap, no need to put a second key or any thing.

Yeah i bought it directly from them, so if it does deactivate it they should be able to reactivate it for me. Hopefully

I recently upgraded my, which was a pretty much full overhaul.

After fresh installation of Windows, an option for transferring license came up.

It seems that there no longer is a requirement to call MS, at least for Windows 10.

You're correct...you no longer have to call to activate it.I think after build 1607 it has the option to swap over.

so does this mean even a MOBO change wont effect it?? So you can but a new system and reactivate windows from the same SSD/HDD?
