Is there any particular water that works best for a water cooling processor or does sink water work?

If you are filling it yourself, use distilled water with a touch of denatured alcohol.  The distilled water is really clean and the denatured alcohol will help prevent anything from growing in the water over time.

Distilled water, with some water cooling additive that prevents bacteria / algae from growing.

If you have sunlight, stuff will grow.

 

Whatever you do, DO NOT use regular sink/tap water.

You can cause the CPU / GPU water blocks and stuff to corrode, due the impurities in regular tap water.

If your using it in a custom loop you should look at getting a proper watercooling fluid. Some good options are stuff from Mayhems or EKWB. You cannot use tap water as it contains minerals and contaminated that will affect the loop long term.
