Posted December 15, 2013 Hello LinusTechTips forum, I've had my system for almost 4 months now and ran into a problem. When I start my PC up it takes almost 3 minutes for it to do it, I have a Kingston SSD so before it only took about 10 seconds. Also when It finaly has started up and I go to My Computer it doesn't show my HDD, (D:) is now my Optical Drive instead of my HDD. But when I go into my BIOS it does show my HDD... I am clueless to what to do to fix this problem I'm having. In case you need to know the specs of the system: CPU:4670k Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45
 Posted December 15, 2013 You'll need to configure it so that the BIOS/System will boot off of the ssd instead of the hdd. Can you go into your BIOS and take screenshots? it can allow further analysis of the issues. Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Posted December 15, 2013 Is the system supposed to be the same as before? Like your SSD is still supposed to be the boot drive? Posted December 15, 2013 Hello LinusTechTips forum, I have my system for almost 4 months now and ran into a problem. A few days ago it started to take about 3 minutes to start up, before it was about 10 seconds with my SSD. Also when it finaly has started up it doesn't show my HDD neither can I get to any of the data that is stored on it (if it's still there). It now shows my Optical Drive as my (D:). I am clueless to what to do and was hoping for some help. In case you need to know the specs: CPU: 4670k Motherboard: MSI Z87 G45 GPU: GTX 770 SSD: Kingston SV300S37A/120G HHD: WD Blue 1TB PS: English is not my native language so I'm sorry if I made grammar mistakes. -Alexandros Sounds like the hdd is not functioning properly. Check to see if the BIOS sees the hdd. If not verify that its power and data cables are securely plugged in at both ends. 80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
