Get the 3570k. 3770k is pointless and youd have to get a new mobo with the 8350.

For more fps you could also get a new gpu.

Get an i5 3570 or a new GPU, if you get a 8350, you'll need a new motherboard which is something you probably want to avoid.

What are the rest of your specs?

What kind of games do you play?

Getting a better gpu will be the biggest performance boost for games.

Why the i5 3570k and not the 3770k whats the diffrence apart from hyperthreading ?

pretty much none, for gaming these are almost Identical only 1 or 2 fps difference, the i7 only reqally is useful for 3d rendering or hardcore video editing, I would go for the 3570k if you plan on overclocking, if not go for the 3570, also spend any money you could have spent on an i7 on an ssd instead if you don't already have one, wont increase your fps but you won't regret it..

Go cheaper, fx 8350 is cheaper and the motherboards are quite cheap aswell but if you already have a 1155 board then grab a intel i5 and maybe another 7850 and crossfire or buy a 7970 or other.

Would cost more, he has to buy a mobo and CPU to go AMD

Apart from HT, the i7 is higher binned and has more cache. It doesn't do much more for gaming.

That's a lot more money than you need to spend for not much more performance...

There's no point getting the 290x over the 290. The 780 Ti is a bad value.
