How to force Windows to use Sony XB40 speaker via USB (rather than BT)

danforz

Hi all. After a fair bit of research, I decided to purchase the Sony XB40 speaker. The thing is gorgeous and the sound is very good for its form factor. Currently, I've connected the speaker to my computer via BT. But that presents two problems (1) there is a delay in the sound (2) the sound often cuts out. So, I'd like to connect my speaker via usb instead, to get past both these issues.

However, when I connected the two via USB A, nothing happened on my computer. The speaker is detected via bluetooth, but no USB (install software or what not) popup showed up when I plugged in the USB. This is a big problem. Can anyone advise?

I think you can't as it's a wireless speaker, the USB port is only meant for charging the battery.
