Should I give up on finding a 5600x? And get 10700?
danforz replied to danforz's topic in New Builds and Planning
My system is unstable and I want to replace the CPU. I just need that much for work. Gaming can come later. -
Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all, I'm building a new rig and need to purchase my CPU. I can wait on the GPU for a 3080ti in the future. Anyways, I haven't been able to find a 5600x anywhere. I already have my fans / case sitting in my living room and need to chose my CPU / Mobo etc. Any thoughts

Hi all, I'd like to order Lian Li Uni (modular attachable fans) but am having difficulty finding them online. I would prefer to purchase from a large name or well known retailer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This looks like it! How do I go about finding a 5600x? It seems sold out everywhere -

lol OK this seems a bit overkill. I was thinking a AMD Ryzen 5600x... I don't do productivity so I don't need all the cores. I already have a 1000wt PSU... Corsair H150 AIO... 32GB of Trident GSkill Memory... etc. The processor / motherboard are really my concerns. When sill 5600x be available? -

I spent $3k total on the last rig. But that also had $100's of RGB fans. Price is not an issue here. The reason I say "occasional gaming," is because an injury prevents me from playing daily. Still, I want 2k @ 144hz on AAA titles so... yea enthusiast build it is -
Budget (including currency): No limitations Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly office use but some high-end 2k gaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current rig is a little unstable. All, my current rig is unstable. I am having issues with the graphics card (2 monitors keep saying "no signal detected") and the system occasionally self-restarts (BSOD?) even though there

Enabling G-Sync makes Freesync Samsung QLED Monitor Dim
danforz replied to danforz's topic in Graphics Cards
Bump. -
All, I have a Samsung QLED gaming monitor with Freesync. My graphics card is a 1080ti. I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and I enabled G-sync and G-Sync Compatible. It caused my screen to dim, noticeably. I disabled Gsync, and the panel got brighter. Then I enabled it again and the panel became permanently darker! I had to reinstall my Nvidia drivers to get the monitor's brightness back. Clearly, the enabling of gsync is doing something to dim my monitor. I would like gsync compatible on so it can use my monitor's freesync. (I paid for it, after all). Does anyone know about

All, I have a pre-built Lenovo. It comes with a basic graphics card that has TWO DISPLAY PORT out plugs. I want to run THREE monitors off this thing and there is no room to install a new graphics card. As such, I'm wondering how I can get a third monitor to work on this computer. Is there an adapter that can make one display port work as two? Please let me know. Thank you.

I have a 8700k with poor thermals. With a 360 CLC AIO in push-pull with high end fans, I still have trouble volting over 1.34v. At that voltage, I'm occasionally hitting 81C/82C. As a result of a poorly performing processor, the NINE high-end fans I set up for intake and cooling along with my 360 CLC AIO are going to waste. I was wondering if, under those circumstances, I should grab a 9700k and hope it performs better thermally? I would like a near 5ghz overclock and have the cooling equipment to support it assuming a good chip. Let me know what you think!

Quick and dirty overclock of INTEL I-7 8700K?

What if I sold my 8700? How much do they sell for? -
Quick and dirty overclock of INTEL I-7 8700K?
danforz replied to danforz's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Sounds reasonable. At 4.5ghz, I'm only getting ~5fps less than I was at 5.0ghz but nearly ~10fps faster than stock. I can live with that. -

I felt the air on the interior of my computer. The air flow is cool and the radiator is getting fed fresh air. The air above the mother board is not abnormally hot and everything feels fine. Either the AIO needs to be reseated / new thermal paste or maybe there's something wrong with the CPU. Let me know what you suggest?
