Depends on coin

 

Ethereum and coins using same algorithm are mined better on RX 570 or RX 580 but gtx 1060+ isn't far off (note you need 4GB memory to mine ETH, 3 GB cards may still work for a few months)

 

zCash and other coins using the Equihash algorithm do better on nVidia cards

Some Cryptonight based coins (monero, dash) may also do slightly better on nVidia
