Hi all I am attempting to overclock my ryzen 5 1600 to 3.7ghz with the settings seen in the below screenshots, after each attempt to implement the overclock the DRAM voltages revert to the red settings seen in 1.Jpg and I lose my DRAM overclock until I set them to auto again, can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong and why I cannot achieve the overclock

NOTE

although it says in the bios that the cpu is at 3700mhz task manager, msi afterburner and ryzen master say it is at 3200mhz and there is no performance uplift therefore I would go with the 3200mhz speed

Have you tried using XMP profile first then just overclocked the DRAM voltage without touching the CH_A and CH_B? The reason its not showing the overclock is the system isn't accepting it past the bios, so it resets.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

Do you have your memory in the recommended slots?(Usually having the ram in the wrong slots and trying to overclock resets the bios. Many people make this simple mistake.) Does your motherboard support your ram?(Might want to check that out too)

yes my ram is in the right slots and my ram is compattable

task manager is retarded. use cpuz to see if the cpu is running t the correct speed.

When I was on Ryzen, it said I was running at 3.6 GHz when it was actually running at 4.0.

Don’t listen to Task Manager. Use CPU-Z or something like HWiNFO.

Alright I have built two Ryzen 1600 systems and have been able to overclock them both with ease with MSI motherboards.

First off unless your running a really high end GPU you will not see any improvement in your games from say 2400 mhz to 3200mhz for your memory.

First off just start from scratch reset your whole bios to factory defaults it looks like you played around with some stuff that should be left alone especially for a mild overclock of 3.7.  +    ensure your are using the latest bios version from the MSI download page.

I would set it to 2400 Mhz this should be easily stable and I have always been able to have ram run at that speed on my girlfriends and my computer. (you can try going higher with the ram speed once you get your CPU stable don't go trying to heavily overclock both at the same time it will give you problems) leave everything off/factory set :  XMP, "Memory Try it", timings to be left in Auto etc..  except your Dram voltage put that 1.350v.

Once your done and your ram is running at 2400mhz and cpu at stock voltages and clocks its time to overclock your CPU.

For 3.7Ghz on the two builds I have put together you can honestly get away with the voltage in Auto..  Meaning you just change your CPU core ratio to 37.00 + make your Cpu fan curve slightly more aggressive to help cool the Cpu.  This should at least BOOT into windows once in windows run a cinebench test and see if it passes if it does run it 3 more times and see if it crashes.  Then move on to a aida 64 stress test if you like.  Also try some gaming out...

While your doing the cine bench test keep an eye on your voltage in HW monitor it can give you a ball park area to set a manual voltage ( if necessary ) To get things stable I have used 1.275-1.35v for the 3.7-3.8Ghz overclock but with recent bios updates I can get 3.7 on Auto. Im using a Msi Gaming pro carbon b350.

Right now I have my 1600 @ 3.9Ghz 1.4v w/ Cryorig H5 Ultimate cooler.

hope some of this helped feel free to PM me if you have further questions I can try to help you out more.

Cheers!
