What would you choose between these two pre-built systems: this at 860$ or this at 1060$ (not from US, I think your prices would be lower)? Does it worth the difference for bigger VRAM (3 vs 6), 7.1 audio instead of 5.1 and 500 W PSU instead of the 280 W one?

I'm afraid that the VRAM on the first one is not enough for more recent games (I see most go at about 4 gigs) and it doesn't seem futureproof (I see that in the last years VRAM usage has increased tremendously). It's hard to get a graphics card in my country since they are out of stock cause of miners, that's why I have to choose between a pre-built system. Should I wait instead for a 1070 or for volta GPUs? Thanks for your answers!

Well a more powerful PSU + the vram isn't work $200. Have you considered building your own?

Hey,

So you definitely want the 500 w, 280 (while it could cover the usage) is not a good idea. Also Vram is important for things like mods/textures in gaming so if you plan on using higher settings, this will directly affect performance.

Out of curiosity why not build your own?

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

I wouldn't pay the extra $200 for the system because i don't think its worth it. If you plan on upgrading later on, i would rather think about building my own system as you can cut a bit on the graphics card, and when you have enough money, upgrading to a 1070 or 1080. If your gonna use the system and not upgrade for a while, you could buy the $1000 one but i wouldn't go for it.

1060 6gb ia at most worth $40 more than the 3gb. While 3gb will need lower texture settings in most cases, 6gb will be held back by core performance eventually, so I dont think the 6gb will be anymore long lasting.

280w PSU isnt a problem. Prebuilt manufacturers wont use a PSU too weak for the job since they will be doing the repairs and pay for that.

First let me thank you all for answering so fast to my topic :)

@CyberFern0: True, GPUs and RAM got more expensive thanks to those miners.

@Thinkfreely: in my country a PC built with components gets with about 100$ more than the second PC I linked (only 1060 got like 40$ more expensive thanks to miners), also all the GPUs over 1050 aren't anywhere to be found, miners buy them as soon as they appear.

How good do you guys think is the 1060 GTX and if the 3GB bottllenecks it? I would prefer a futureproof PC since I change them once every 6-7 years (even though I know that after 2-3 years they are already outdated). Had the opportunity to test the first PC and Kombustor says GPU voltage reached very fast (does that mean the PSU bottlenecks it?), gets at around 81 degrees Celsius (177 F) in a couple of minutes also stutters in Watch Dogs 2 even with the i7 (but I suppose that game is just poorly optimized). Would it worth waiting for a Volta GPU or/and an i9? Or they will delay that series because of good sales to miners.

Actually I got the first system at 860$ but I can still return it and get my money back, any recommendation for a benchmarking program so you can assess it? Got kinda disappointed with the fps dropping in half on hyper settings in Mirror Edge Catalyst. These are the results for the first system http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/6823348 https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-legion-y520-tower-desktop-90h70029us/specs/ (no ssd) Would it be outdated in 1-2 years or is it outdated already? Didn't expect for games to hog so much VRAM, the older PC that I have bought has GT 430 1gb (saw GTA IV could use the extra vram), did the mistake to take that over the 450 with half of the Vram, and now I got fooled in the opposite direction...
