Frontpanel Line Audio not working PROPERLY

Hi everyone,

I built my new system yesterday and I just started playing a CES video, when I realized, that I had no audio from my right channel.

What I already tried:

  • Trying to reinstall drivers
  • tried other headphones
  • Trying to switch to different sound profiles in Asus Sonic Studio
  • Trying to switch profiles in windows settings etc.
  • checked the header on my mobo

I read about the possibility of the contact points being damaged. This might be. But I want to check all other possibilities before I run out and RMA my new Mobo....

All Important Specs:

Mobo: Asus Strix Z370-G, Chassis: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX

Thanks for any advice... and help

Christian

Have you tried the audio ports at the back? Also, it might be the case if you're using front panel audio.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Yes, they work perfectly fine.

I think so but yeah... would be annoying

In that case, do you potentially have another case you can test (all you have to do is switch the cables if its long enough) or another motherboard?

I know this sounds like "did you try turning it off and back on" advice, but try removing the HD audio cable and plugging it back in but pushing down a bit harder. Last time something like this happened to me, that fixed it. I thought the cable was in all the way but it wasn't. Took a bit more force.

No, I don't actually. I also checked all connections on the header by unscrewing everything I could. So wiring seems to be intact. But yeah. I contacted the service guys at my retailer what to do. Maybe they can send me a new case to try or something, while I can use the old one. :D

I tried that first. Actually good thing to recommend because its too obvious;)

If someone has any further ideas, keep them coming

Thanks

You could always try to get Phanteks to just send you a new front IO panel, it looks like its not that hard to remove...
