DS and Ds Lite screen compatability

Does anybody know if the ribbon cables that are used for the screens on the Ds and Ds lite are the same? I have seen others suggesting swapping the screen of a ds (original) with that of a Ds lite but obviously if they use different cables then that wouldn't be possible. Has anybody also had experience doing this?
