Hello, I'm building a pc for the first time ever and I was hoping to get some tips, feedback, and criticism on the parts I have picked out. I have saved up for over 10 years ever since middle school in the hope of making my own rig.

Here is the list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TddpZ8

I would love to get any sort of help. I still don''t know much about overclocking or Raid. I also would like to know if I should wait for new better parts on the horizon and push back the build.

Anything helps and my final line for the budget is that it should be under $5500 U.S.

Also, RGB would be nice

I'd make some changes. I'll come back with another parts list in a moment.

Dropped 32GB of RAM, if you find after use you do need it, just buy it, it's easy to upgrade, and doesn't require any system updates after.

Save the other 1080 Ti for a 2080Ti when it comes out. I changed the PSU and headset too.

You don't need M.2. Replaced with 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD. You could substitute this with an 1TB SSD too.

If you were actually spending that much you probably want a 1950X

all blower cards are terrible

There's a 4k 60hz build

You also didn't list what exactly you'd be using the PC for

Like, every 1080 Ti, and they are all like $200-300 cheaper.

4-8 months from now, and the performance difference will be huge due to Volta

Cool, look like I'll be pushing my build back a bit for 2080s. I'm new so I find it really nice to see that my $5500 budget is an over estimate for the builds being recommended.

if GPU pricing wasn't stupid you could get a solid 1080p gaming PC for under $1000

Maybe in 2025, but GPU and most electronics do have a steep price on release for reasons I don't know.

No, it's just that the miners are pushing up the prices sometimes, combined with the DRAM shortage.

GPUs are all $50 to $100 more than they should be

and RAM prices have doubled

If you want a basic gaming PC you'd get an R5 1600 + RX 580 8GB and a free-sync display maybe $1500 max

A healthy mix of gaming (VR too), and video editing.

Just buy that build and you'll be fine for whatever you want to do
