Phone Speakers sometimes not working

GrayTech

I just replaced the screen of my Nexus 5x but now I have problems with my speakers. The bottom speaker can play a ringtone when I get a call but as soon as it should play sound from the media category it doesn't work anymore. The ear speaker doesn't work when I get calls.

Have you damaged the ribbon cables? They're pretty fragile. I'd make sure they're plugged in correctly too

The bottom speaker can't be damaged since the alarm and the ringtone is working. Only sound from media sources doesnn't work.

Sorry to sound patronising but is your media volume turned up? Android has different sliders for ringtones, media, calls, and alarms

This happend with my dad's Moto G once. Check if the phone doesen't think there is something plugged in into the headphone jack. You might have shorted the contacts on the headphone jack when putting the phone back together

Main system: Ryzen 5 1600 | ASRock A320M | 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM | GTX 1060 | 1TB WD BLUE

Server: AMD A6-7400K@4.3Ghz | 8GB 1866 DDR3 RAM | 2TB total storage

On the go: Thinkpad E440 | i5 4200M | 8GB DDR3 1600MHz | 500GB HDD

This seemmmpossible since the left channel of the headphone jack doesn't work as well.
