27 vs 34 WIde screen

The contenders -

In this corner - coming in at 27 inches, the Dell Gaming S2716DG

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0149QBOF0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3F8JJUALKY70D&psc=1

and his opponents at a whopping 34 inches, the ASUS Designo Curved MX34VQ 34

https://www.amazon.com/Designo-MX34VQ-Adaptive-Sync-Wireless-Frameless/dp/B01N4UQIGT/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1515019740&sr=1-2&keywords=asus+3440x1440

Dell has gsync and 144hz.

Asus is 34 inches(!) 100hz and has a wireless charger (not a deal breaker but nice).

I play games, do some light video editing and creation and run 3 different systems through 1 monitor right now.

Do I need 34 inches?  I have a 27 at work and it's pretty large, but I think I could split screen the Asus for more productivity.....

In a nutshell, is the Asus worth the extra $200?

I would get one, editing on an ultrawide is fantastic I hear. Although I personally would look for an IPS display

Pricing gets crazy...  can't find anything under $800 with those specs.  AM I missing something?

Here is a 27.  No widescreen though in the price range.

That would probably be worth it, I personally use a Dell SE2717HR 27" 1080p 60Hz IPS and I love it. Not the best for gaming, no frame sync or overclocking, but it gets the job done.

OK, so 34 is out.  Too much.  Now, IPS or Gsync...?  I have a 1080ti if I want it, so maybe I don't need gsync after all.....

How can I put it.... you are paying extra, even at a premium price already... but god damn you're getting your money worth out of it, I vow for it.

Ultrawides are an amazing experience, myself already love my smaller 29inch 2560x1080p one, any one who tries 21:9 never goes back to 16:9... I am just saving some money for the X34, why do you think EVERY ONE in LTT uses a 1440p ultrawide? hardly is a coincidence xD

That is screen true luxury high end seekers should buy, if you can afford it and wanna something to last you years and years, worthy investment... also 60hz to 100hz is much more noticeable than 100hz to 144hz, I believe this so much I settled for a 100hz monitor myself and I have tried plenty of both worlds. 60hz ~ 144hz.

I can't argue with any of your points.  Looks like I'll wait till Feb and save another $400....

I asked this same question a few months ago (considering different models) and landed on a 34" UW. I bought a Samsung CF791 when it was on sale via eBay for $600 and couldn't be happier. For reference, I was coming from a dell u2713hm which is 1440p60 IPS.
